Willows whiten, aspens quiver,
Little breezes dusk and shiver
Thro' the wave that runs forever
By the island in the river
Flowing down to Camelot.
Four grey walls, and four grey towers,
Overlook a space of flowers,
And the silent isle imbowers
The Lady of Shalott.
Piling sheaves in uplands airy,
Listening, whispers "'Tis the fairy
Lady of Shalott."
There she weaves by night and day
A magic web with colours gay.
She has heard a whisper say
A curse is on her if she stay
To look down on Camelot.
She knows not what the curse may be,
And so she weaveth steadily,
And little other care hath she,
The Lady of Shalott.
I have always loved this poem. I was first introduced to it while watching Anne of Green Gables as a child. As I went to take self portraits in the bath tub, this ran through my mind. It is quite dear to my heart. It has such beautiful imagery. I hope that my images convey that even a little bit. Either way they made me feel really good to take them.

I frikken LOVE Anne of Green Gables. LOL Maybe THAT's why I turned out (the redheaded rebel) like I did?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. The tulip just puts the icing on the cake. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteI love this, especially your pose in the top one. I've been thinking of doing something via bathtub sometime but I still don't know what, this turned out gorgeous though. :)
